When Designers don’t take what they’re doing so seriously and can have fun with their lookbooks and even their collections, those are the designers I admire.
Olympia Le-Tan is such a talented designer! In 2009, she launched her eponymous accessories label, combining her two obsessions,”embroidery (a talent she inherited from her grand-mother), and literature (a passion she shares with her father, French illustrator Pierre Le-Tan) to create one of a kind handbags and minaudières. The bags are handmade with love in France in very limited editions.”
I know this is late news for those of you who already are familiarized with the designer and her brand, but for those of you who aren’t…Her Fall 2013 lookbook is called “In The Forest” Each photo has a different animal head per model, and each bag tells it’s own story. Her Father Pierre Le-Tan created the drawings and is very well known illustrator. Together they make a power team.
It’s so funny how two of the designers I’m swooning over both have Olympia in their names.. Charlotte Olympia & Olympia Le-Tan and ironically you could easily pair Le-Tan’s clothing and bags with Charlotte’s character shoes.
Here are some of my favorite looks from this very Hansel & Gretel-esque collection:
