Derby Attire
I am off to the races this upcoming Easter Weekend in Keeneland. The style I’m aiming for is “Derby Fashion” from the Sixties/Seventies. A big floppy hat, sheer or knitted floor length, and midi dresses, and my favorite part, which is over the top accessories. I will be mastering these looks with vintage finds. Turquoise, pearls, and basket woven handbags are a nice added touch to lock in the perfect “Derby” look.
Chanel On Aisle One
Have you already heard about the Models that went shopping at the Chanel F/W 2014/15 Ready To Wear Show in Paris? If you have not you can view the entire show today!
I love the color choices that Karl used for this collection, and the fact that these Women aren’t all dressed like the classic Chanel Woman. Karl says, “Nobody tells us what to do, we are totally free and freedom is a good help for creativity if you know how to manage the creativity and not to go into another direction… But I am quite focused.”
I can see how focused he is with the uniqueness of his show. From the grocery items, shopping carts and baskets that were intertwined with the classic Chanel chains, this show was so thought out… He has really mastered our modern day woman, and knows what we are all coveting. I love the “Boy” direction he has been taking the brand by storm with these last seasons. The accessories (BELLY CHAINS!!), shoes and oversized tweed coats are so up to par.
Check out the show and an interview with Karl..
The only thing I will say that I found to be distasteful were the handbags that were in what appears to be a meat tray, it’s quite literal and offensive.

New York: is my favorite playground to frequent, and when you have friends from La La Land that are also in town it becomes a really nice field trip.
Yesterday, I started the morning off with a lighter brunch at EGG with my friend Sara. We then proceeded to top those calories off with hot cocoa and macaroons at, The Bakeshop. Both of these places are located in the heart of Williamsburg and are worth checking out.
After bopping around in Saint Laurent heels that were a non-functional option, we cabbed our frozen butts over to the Sally Lapointe show. If I hadn’t worn this Unreal Fur jacket layered with a Theory, velvet blazer underneath, I would have turned into Jack from Titanic…

Chanel Paris-Dallas Métiers D’Art Show
On December 11th, Texas was graced with exquisite Fashion by no other but the amazing Karl Lagerfeld and his 2014 Collection held in the Dallas Fair Park. Guests were greeted with collectible cars from the 50’s and Southern style food. These cars were parked for a drive-in movie setup, where a short film was playing about Coco Chanel in 1954 called, “The Return”.
Some of the celebrities that attended the show were; Dakota Fanning, Kristen Stewart, Lily Collins, Alexa Chung, & more.
Followed by the film, Karl presented Chanel’s 2014 Pre-Fall collection with a scattered with hay setup that stood for it’s Western theme that was a total mock of what the Wild West would have been. The models strutted down the barn-esque runway in Chanel’s favorite, tweed, as well as fringe, feathers, denim and classic pearl’s. The hair detail was my personal fav, I mean c’mon folks who doesn’t love a Chanelbow created from the models own long blonde hair..
Kristen Stewart will be the cover face of this campaign and it will be shot personally by Lagerfeld. It is set to come out in May!
